June 2022 — Present

Paxton Media Group — Reporter

I am the Education Reporter for the Messenger-Inquirer in Owensboro, Kentucky, a newspaper owned by Paxton Media Group. The newspaper covers all of Daviess County, along with surrounding counties. My main focus in on education at all levels. My duties include conducting interviews, working on a daily deadline and an education feature each week.

July 2021 - May 2022

KPC Media — Editor/Reporter

I was the Editor/Reporter for Northwest News, a newspaper owned by KPC Media Group, covering the Northwest area of Allen County, Indiana. My editor duties consisted of working with freelancers, creating budgets and editing newspaper layout designs. My reporter duties consisted of conducting interviews, finding story ledes and taking photos.

November 2020 - July 2021

Paxton Media Group — Reporter

I am a former Reporter for McLean County News, a newspaper owned by Paxton Media Group, that covered McLean County, Kentucky. My duties consisted of finding story ledes, attending meetings and community events and writing three to five stories a week. During my time with the McLean County News, I helped create content for our Chamber Magazine, as well as produce a monthly Chamber page in the newspaper profiling a Chamber of Commerce business.

January 2021 - June 2021

Paxton Media Group — Reporter

I am a former Reporter for the Warrick County Standard, a newspaper owned by Paxton Media Group, that covered Warrick County, Indiana. My duties consisted of finding story ledes, writing three to five stories a week and attending meetings and community events.

May 2019 - November 2020

Paxton Media Group — Paginator

I am a former Paginator for various newspapers owned by Paxton Media Group. My duties consisted of designing newspaper pages based on layouts and budgets sent by editors, making design changes and proofing coworker's pages.

June 2018 - May 2019

The Flor-Ala — Various positions

I am the former Life Editor, News Editor and Managing Editor of The Flor-Ala, the student newspaper at The University of North Alabama. My duties consisted of editing submitted stories, working with fellow editors on deadlines and managing the website. During my time at The Flor-Ala, the staff and I investigated two major issues on campus. The first issue was a Title IX case against a professor filed by a student and the change of our advisor's job description (to where he no longer qualified) over the university's dislike of our coverage on the Title IX case. The staff spoke at conferences in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and New York City, New York to speak about our experiences.
